The La Palina Illumination blend was a response by owner Bill Paley to create a blend similar to the La Palina Goldie that would be more available and less expensive than the Goldie. La Palina has stated it is the same blend with Ligero replacing the expensive & rare Medio Tiempo leaf. Other than the Medio Tiempo leaf the blend is identical, the La Palina Illumination is also produced in the famed boutique El Titan de Bronze factory in Little Havana, Miami like the Goldie’s. The cigars are made with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, Ecuadorian binder, and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.
