When viewed directly from the side, this eighth installment of Savinelli’s famous “Leonardo” series appears to be a sophisticated Billiard with a triangular shank and stem. From the top, however, while that palpable elegance remains, the rim assumes the form a Balestra; the 120:1 scale crossbow conceived by the original Renaissance man, Leonardo Da Vinci. Much in the case of so many of Leonardo Da Vinci’s fantastic flights of imagination, the detailed schematic for the Balestra Gigante rests within the leaves of the Codex Atlanticus; a twelve volume compendium which is universally hailed as the greatest of Leonardo's codices. The smooth brown of the finish and the silver relief of the Balestra itself are quite representative of hues which would appear within the timber and chains of Da Vinci’s vision. Your new Leonardo Pipe arrives in a special box, accompanied by a certificate and a dedicated tamper.

The man himself once said “The noblest pleasure is the joy of understanding.” Show off your new Leonardo Balestra to your pipe buddies, give them its background, and spread the joy.
